Abigail Wood Fund Development & Resource Manager

Abigail Wood is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Chicago and joined ELACC as the Fund Development Associate in the fall of 2013, after nearly 10 years working in youth development and violence prevention in Chicago. She is now ELACC’s Fund Development & Resource Manager, overseeing the annual organizational grant seeking strategy, managing foundation relations with key staff, and securing additional external resources to enhance and expand ELACC’s work. Since graduating from high school, she has focused her personal and career objectives on supporting organizations and groups of people creating community level change that empowers families; beginning as a mentor on the Saginaw Chippewa Reservation in Michigan, to directing an afterschool program for young people at high-risk of experiencing community and interpersonal violence in Chicago’s Little Village neighborhood. Now working fulltime in development, she supports ELACC’s dedicated team of organizers, counselors, and project managers, as they work directly with community members to create solutions to systemic inequity.
