Maria Cabildo was born and raised in East Los Angeles, the daughter of Mexican immigrants. Over the last twenty years, Ms. Cabildo has held various positions in the public and private non-profit sector. In the early 90's, she worked as a planning assistant in the Office of Mayor Tom Bradley. After attending UCLA's Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Planning, Ms. Cabildo was employed by A Community of Friends (ACOF), the premier developer of service-enriched housing in southern California. Her first development project, a $5 million apartment complex for homeless adults with special needs, is located in East Los Angeles. She devoted six and a half years of her professional career to the development of permanent affordable housing for homeless persons with chronic mental illness. During her tenure as Deputy Director, ACOF secured nearly $25 million in multi-family housing and supportive services resources.
In October of 1999, she became the second Executive Director of East LA Community Corporation (ELACC), an organization she co-founded in 1995. As Executive Director, she is charged with implementing a community-based revitalization strategy for Boyle Heights and East Los Angeles. She feels fortunate to bring her skills to the community where she was born and raised. Over the last 12 years, ELACC has secured over $58 million in multi-family and single-family resources for its service area.

A native of East Los Angeles, Evangeline Ordaz-Molina is a graduate of UC Berkeley's Boalt Hall School of Law, after which she returned to Los Angeles to practice public interest law. Ms. Ordaz-Molina has over 8 years of public interest legal experience mainly in the area of housing. As an attorney at the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, she practiced in the area of tenants' rights and community economic development. In private practice, Ms. Ordaz-Molina represented the tenants of slum buildings in lawsuits against their landlords. As an Assistant Professor at California State University Northridge, Ms. Ordaz-Molina taught courses in Constitutional Law and Community Organizing. Recognizing that the key to improving housing conditions for low-income families lies in developing affordable housing in collaboration with community members, Ms. Ordaz co-founded the East LA Community Corporation. After sitting on the Executive Committee of the Board for 12 years, she currently serves as ELACC's Vice-President and General Counsel.

Mr. Peter Chu, Director of Finance, is a highly recognized financial professional with over 30 years of extensive experience managing accounting departments in the not for profit and for profit sectors, including the construction industry. Mr. Chu is responsible for developing and implementing systems and procedures for ELACC's Accounting and Asset Management departments. He is responsible for all financial functions of the day-to-day operation. Before joining ELACC, Mr. Chu, worked with numerous real estate developers in the private and not-for-profit sectors. Mr. Chu is a graduate of California State University of Los Angeles. He is licensed to practice by the Internal Revenue Service, and was named "STAFF PERSON OF THE YEAR" by the Affordable Housing Association.

A graduate of UC Davis, Isela Gracian, joined East LA Community Corporation (ELACC) in 2004. She is also ELACC's Spanish language media spokesperson. Prior to becoming a Director, Ms. Gracian managed ELACC's implementation of the Los Angeles Works for Better Health Initiative working to improve the health of the community by creating access to better job opportunities. Currently, Ms. Gracian oversees all of the community organizing staff as they work with ELACC's base of community residents to identify the most pressing community needs and to develop grass roots campaigns that work toward meeting those needs. The California Women's Foundation recognized Ms. Gracian for her cutting edge work formulating solutions to community issues by appointing her a California Women's Policy Institute Fellow in 2006/2007.

Angelica Rubio graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in Government. In June 2008 she received a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from California State University Long Beach. Ms. Rubio joined ELACC as a housing counselor in January 2006 where she worked day in and day out with those residents facing the foreclosure crisis. Currently Ms. Rubio oversees the Community Wealth Department staff as they work to develop and establish assets within the community.

Mr. Espinoza joined ELACC in August of 2007. Prior to joining ELACC as Director of Real Estate Development, Mr. Espinoza worked for the National Farm Workers Service Center, Inc. (NFWSC), a national non-profit affordable housing development organization. At the NFWSC, Mr. Espinoza began as a Construction Manager, and was later Project Manager for the Northern California Region. As Project Manager, Mr. Espinoza was responsible for the development of over 452 multifamily affordable housing apartments in California and New Mexico. At NFWSC, he worked on the development of over 880 apartments, 32 single family homes, and developed two tract maps. Mr. Espinoza attended the University of California in Berkeley where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Environmental Design and Architecture, and has a degree in Construction Management from ULCA.

Katty Pollicino has served as ELACC's Office Manager since November 2007. She joined ELACC in April 2006 as an Administrative Assistant. Prior to working at ELACC, Katty was the Property Manager of Casa Loma Apartments for New Economics for Women, an affordable housing developer in Los Angeles. Katty is a native of Mexico City. She has a B.A in Hotel Administration from Escuela Mexicana de Turismo y Hoteleria in Mexico City, and was the Director of Sales for several major international luxury hotel chains, including Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts and Hyatt Hotels International.

Ms. Quintanar joined ELACC in July 2008, as the Fund Development and Communications Associate. Her responsibilities include research and proposal writing for all major grants within the organization, cultivation of existing and potential donors, and the planning of communications and public relation strategies. Prior to joining ELACC Ms. Quintanar was an Educational Administration Coordinator in the South of Spain where she worked to establish a functional bi-lingual program. Ms. Quintanar is an alumni of the Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California.
