A real and visible impact

To date ELACC has developed 360 units of affordable housing (with more than 300 additional units in development,) including 12 multi-family projects which house more than 500 low-income residents.  By connecting these tenants to other vital programs, they are able to leverage services to further improve their quality of life.

By building three beautiful homes on a rundown street, we inspired neighbors to improve their own homes and increased pride in the neighborhood.

Our community wealth advocates use a holistic approach to help put clients on an asset-building path to success, and have so far helped over 600 families facing foreclosure. From the steps required to open a bank account to pursuing higher education, ELACC has helped Eastside residents gain access to the knowledge, skills, and resources needed to move closer to a lives of financial and housing stability.

Through Neighbors Building Neighborhoods, ELACC has organized community members to speak out about housing and accountable development issues that affect Boyle Heights. By engaging, training, and supporting our residents, we build power, promote social equality, and strengthen the fabric of our neighborhood. Our membership base of over 800 recently won a transit safety campaign to have additional safety features installed in our local Light Rail Line.

By organizing over 100 street vendors, we persuaded the City Council to pass a motion to develop a plan for vending in a designated area within the neighborhood.

Success stories.
