As Director of Programs, Lupe is responsible for the operational success of three ELACC departments, Community Organizing, Community Wealth and Tenant Services. In collaboration with the President, Lupe develops and implements strategies that will maximize integration among program areas and supports the management team to make consistent and progressive steps toward organizational excellence.

Lupe joined the ELACC team in 2007. In her formal role as the Director of Tenant Services she oversaw service delivery to over 500 residents in ELACC’s service enriched housing properties. In 2010, she developed the ELACC S.T.A.R.S. youth program to encompass academic, enrichment and activities to server over 100 children and youth. In October 2012, Lupe began to host a monthly mobile food pantry through a partnership with LA Regional Food Bank. The program supplies up to 25 pounds of food, at no cost, to over 250 families per visit.

Lupe received a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from the University of Phoenix.

Eastsider Tidbit – Lupe loves to visit Raspados Don Manuel’s and have a diablito, fresas con crema or a raspado de nuez. She also likes to visit the WELA YMCA for some of the many classes they offer to the community. Two of her children attended the Sunrise YMCA Preschool in Boyle Heights.
