Lynn Hansen has 25 years’ experience in community development finance and affordable housing, including leadership positions in the CDFI, commercial banking sector, and government sectors, as well as extensive financial consulting experience. She is currently Vice President and Financial Institutions Analyst for CARS™.
She has served as Senior Vice President and Southern California Regional Manager for Affordable Housing for Bank of America where she was responsible for all aspects of origination, management and credit quality of lending portfolios supporting affordable housing development throughout Southern California. Ms. Hansen supervised annual originations of more than $130 million while managing an active portfolio of nearly $300 million. She was the Southern California Director of the Low Income Investment Fund (LIIF), where she was responsible both for portfolio quality and for originating a variety of acquisition, predevelopment, construction, and term loans for community development projects. Her responsibilities at LIIF also included strategic planning, budgeting, recruiting and administration. Most recently, she has provided financial consulting services for both local governments and nonprofit developers, providing financial feasibility analysis, consultation on high-profile work-outs, and analysis of financial statements.
Ms. Hansen has also served as Assistant General Manager for Housing Development at the City of Los Angeles Housing Department, where she was responsible for a loan portfolio of $710 million and managed a staff of 137 employees. She was the California Director of Real Estate Development for the National Farmworkers Service Center where she oversaw the preservation, rehabilitation and construction of housing for very low-income families in California. For most of the last 17 years, she has also assisted as a volunteer board member for the East LA Community Corporation.
Ms. Hansen has a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from UCLA and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
