The Problem

Boyle Heights is undergoing dramatic changes as a result of redevelopment efforts. New housing, businesses and public improvements are being proposed along the new Metro Goldline without meaningful input from current residents. Gentrification pressures have already resulted in the displacement of many residents.

The solution
ELACC demands that new development on the Eastside benefit current residents with decent affordable housing, quality jobs and a vibrant local economy.

Campaign Goals
• Inclusive community driven development process
• Affordable rental and for-sale housing for current residents
• Local hire and job training
• Local serving businesses
• Preservation of Boyle Heights culture

How this changes lives?
Winning community benefits along the Metro Gold Line will change the lives of hundreds of Boyle Heights' working families by ensuring access to healthy homes, good paying jobs and having a say over changes in  their neighborhoods
