Roberto joined East LA Community Corporation in August 2012. As a Housing & Financial Counselor, Mr. Coto brings with him over two years free tax preparation through IRS' VITA program, financial literacy education, financial counseling, and running Lanzate Savings Program. Roberto earned his BA in Sociology from University of the Pacific (2008) and concluded his Master’s degree in Geography at California State University Los Angeles (2011). He is currently working on obtaining his Geographic Information System (GIS) Certification by 2016.
Prior to joining ELACC, Roberto worked for Camino Nuevo Charter Academy at Jose Castellanos Elementary where he served the community of Pico Union (2010-2011) as a library administrator and teacher assistant. He also interned as an Assistant Project Manager at Visionary Home Builders of California (2007-2008) through California Coalition for Rural Housing’s (CCRH) leadership development program.
