The Tenant Services’ Mission is to provide direct support and access to resources for ELACC’s affordable housing tenants. Together, we are helping tenants maximize their quality of life.
Who We Are
Since 2007, the Tenant Services Department has been serving hundreds of tenants at ELACC’s Affordable Housing properties throughout Boyle Heights, El Sereno, and Unincorporated East Los Angeles. The programs offered at the multiple sites have focused on supporting the tenants overcome their day-to-day challenges by providing bilingual skills-building and conscious-building curriculum. Currently, the Tenant Services Department serves 7 affordable housing sites, reaching over 800 tenants. Tenant Services programing is successful because of our passionate volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering please contact our Tenant Services Manager at email@example.com
What We Do
Tenant Services links residents to resources that will help them succeed in life and foster a strong support network amongst their neighbors. Our after school youth program, ELACC S.T.A.R.S (Sustainable Tutoring and Academic Resources for Students), provides tutoring and homework assistance to K-12 students throughout the year by recruiting volunteers from local high schools, universities and organizations. Our adult programs and workshops give tenants information and builds capacity in the areas of health, nutrition, financial education, communication skills, and job search skills. Through periodic assessment of the tenant’s needs, the Tenant Services team develops their curriculum to better meet the priorities of the tenants at each of the properties.
Mobile Food Pantry – Helping Eastside Families Access Healthy Food
Our monthly food distribution program, in collaboration with the LA Regional Food Bank, provides 25 lbs. of fresh food for up to 250 people from the community at large. By working together, the Tenant Services Department ensures ELACC tenants and community families are thriving and taking steps to maintain a healthy and sustainable home. Since the inception of the program 3 years ago, we have served over 5,000 Eastside families.
Volunteers have been essential in helping engage tenants in activities and forge relationships to create stronger support networks. To date, we have recruited over 100 volunteers from the surrounding communities. You can become part of the Tenant Services family by volunteering today. You too can have a lasting impact on ELACC families!
