Los Angeles has faced incredible challenges this past year, and our Eastside communities were among the hardest hit. From the fires last winter, to immigration enforcement raids terrorizing our communities, to massive cuts to government programs— our most vulnerable neighbors are facing terrible economic hardship.

In these times of unprecedented uncertainty, ELACC’s programs have been a stabilizing force for our community.

In 2025, we distributed $177,000 in rent relief, provided food to 13,000 people through our mobile food pantry, and counseled over 200 people with First Time Home Buyer workshops, helping over 90 families buy their first home. We launched new programs to support innovative home ownership models on the Eastside, all while maintaining affordable, stable housing for over 2,000 people.

As part of the LA Street Vending Campaign (LASVC), we raised, we raised over $455,000 to support street vendors impacted by ICE raids. We created new green spaces in Boyle Heights and offered new opportunities for tenants to learn and share knowledge with their community through classes and workshops in cooking, gardening, art and even dance therapy. Our housing experts supported hundreds of our most vulnerable community members with counseling services and case management.

And, of course, ELACC also turned 30 years old.

Our work is only made possible by our generous donors, who recognize the needs and challenges our community faces.

That is why this Giving Tuesday, I am asking for your help. Help us stabilize communities for years to come by pledging your support today.

Whether you’ve been a supporter of our work for decades, or just learned about us this year, thank you for being a part of ELACC’s story.

Sincerely,

Monica Mejia
